IndieFlix has been working for over a year now with first-time filmmakers Lauren Parsekian and Molly Thompson to bring their anti-bullying documentary Finding Kind to schools, film festivals and camps across North America. We are thrilled to announce that the theatrical debut has arrived! Watch Finding Kind on the big screen in New York City and Los Angeles. Opening night is Friday, September 23rd and the film will be in theaters through the 29th. If you live in New York or Los Angeles, please spread the word or get a group of friends to go see the film!
Inspired by personal experiences with “mean girls,” these young filmmakers set out on a 10,000- mile journey across the country to document the cruelty of girl bullying. They spoke to over 30,000 girls, visited more than 60 cities and set up “Truth Booths,” capturing tearful memories and confessions from girls across America. Finding Kind is a document of that journey, and of the filmmakers’ quest to take these experiences and find a common ground of kindness and mutual respect. Parsekian and Thompson are also the co-founders of the non-profit organization Kind Campaign, which, with the documentary itself, is a movement based upon the belief in kindness that brings awareness and healing to the negative and lasting effects of girl-against-girl “crime.”
